Gift Guide | Valentine's Day Love Baskets

We’re gearing up for one of our favorite little holidays, and I wanted to share a few things I’ve come across for sweet little Valentine’s Day baskets. While this romantic holiday is a small one, I love doing a little extra to make the dull, cold, winter month just a little bit brighter.

It’s our tradition to have a Valentine’s morning pancake breakfast, with a couple of these items at their place setting. We love love around here, what can I say.

  1. 'Love Escargot' Book

  2. Olli Ella Berry Basket - I bought these last year and they’re the perfect little size for love baskets. We also use year round for collecting all sorts of things. For Valentine’s Day, I fill with pink and red paper grass and decorate with a little ribbon.

  3. Lulu Luvs Pigtail Bows

  4. Maileg Ballerina Mouse

  5. Cubebot

  6. Maileg Macaron Set

  7. Collegien Nico Socks

  8. Compass

  9. Heartbreaker Sunglasses

  10. ‘Each Peach Pear Plum’ Book

  11. Mini Blossom Streamer

  12. Unicorn

  13. ‘Love From Madeline' Book

  14. Lego Classic Red Creative Brick Set

  15. Sarah’s Silks - Red Playsilk

  16. ‘I Heart You’ Book

Halloween Decor

I was never a big Halloween decorator, but Harrison has become OBSESSED with Halloween the past couple years, which has changed things for me. Kids really do make everything fun and special again.

I have been having so much fun searching for pieces that are exciting for H&M, while still looking cute and festive and I don’t mind having up the entire month of October… I wanted to share in case you also have kids who are skeleton and all things spooky obsessed! It’s amazing what just a few pieces will do.

  1. Large Outdoor Spiders We cover our house with these huge spiders, and I think they’re the perfect balance of spooky and chic.

  2. Felt ghost garland - the sweetest little ghosts

  3. Bird claw candle sticks

  4. Felt bats - I have tried out 3 different kind of bats now (…) and these are by far the best. Great quality, stay up great, posable wings and look so so good.

  5. Skeleton - we have always had a black front door, and I love how this looks hanging right on the front door. It’s Harrison’s FAVORITE.

  6. Hanging witches hats - we hang ours with fishing wire, and leave the tiny hooks up all year long. Word to the wise, the black dye does come off on your hands during hanging so be careful where you leave them, and other tiny hands which may touch them and then touch your white furniture. Just saying…

  7. Napkins

  8. Skull

Gift Guide | Easter Baskets 2022

There’s something so calming, refreshing, and light about putting together the kids Easter baskets, especially this year. With so much hurt happening, and so much of the world upside down - it’s a little bright spot.

I’ve been gathering ideas for H&M’s baskets for a couple weeks now, and wanted to share some of my favorite items I’ve come across. As usual, these are a combination of things we already have, with special pieces I’m loving for the upcoming season. I always try to include some things that they need for the spring/summer with some fun little toys or activities that I know they’ll be excited about. One or two of these pieces, plus some mini eggs and chocolate rabbits and we’re golden.

Whether you want to sprinkle in some of these special pieces, or they inspire you to find something similar, I hope they bring you the same joy that it brought me to pull them together.

  1. Petite Plume - Pink Gingham Pajamas

Matching Easter pajamas, but make them classic and absolutely adorable. Our favorite pajamas, so incredibly well made, wash great and so cozy. I love gifting these for special occasions and then having them be a part of our pajama wardrobe all season long.

  2. Frou Frou - Mille Fleurs Print Straw Hat

  3. Bob & Blossom - Ballet Pink Tutu

Part of Margot’s Halloween costume, now in daily rotation for dress up time.

  4. Alimrose - Asleep Awake Baby Doll

  5. Madeline - Book

This was always an absolute favorite of mine growing up, and I cannot wait to start reading regularly to Margot

  6. Minnow x Brock Collection - Primrose Ruffle Swimsuit

By now you should know we live by Minnow, our all time favorite suits - and this collection with Brock had Margot’s name alllll over it…

  7. Liewood - Swim Ring

Of course only to use with an adult, but a cute little addition to the pool for the summer

  8. Atelier W x Willkie's Embroidered Oval Clips

  9. Senger Naturwelt - Floppy Bunny

  10. Mrs. Alice - Pink Gingham Easter Basket

On the lookout for a new basket for Margot, since her basket last year was a gift in itself. This sweet one from Mrs. Alice seemed to be made for our girl.

  11. Mini Melissa - Possession Sandal

  12. Weezie - Cover Up

Love this gingham cover up in combination with allllll her tiny floral swimsuits and swim hats.

  13. Josie Joans - Hair Pretties Box

  14. Flower Fairies Of The Spring - Book

  15. The Beach People - Beach Toy Set

A favorite summer item of ours, which sadly got left at the beach last year …

  16. Friendly Toys - Wooden Goose Push Toy

  17. Winnie The Pooh - Book

Harrison has been loving longer, more in depth stories, and loves the story of Winnie The Pooh, so this classic edition will be the perfect addition to our bookshelf.

  18. The Hey Gang - HG Hat

  19. Heather Taylor Home - Kids Apron

We actually bought this for Harrison’s 4th birthday, but would be the cutest addition to an Easter basket for little kitchen helpers.

  20. Jumbo Sidewalk Chalk

  21. Petite Plume - Blue Gingham Pajamas

Another birthday purchase that will double for Easter/spring

  22. Moulin Roty - Binoculars

Harrison has been using my childhood binoculars, which I’m actually pretty sure are filled with mud circa 1995… so looking forward to getting him his own he’ll actually be able to see out of. As we all know, he’s a huge outdoor lover, so his basket is going to be really focused on little backyard activities and fun things to explore together during Margot’s afternoon nap. I love love love this age.

  23. Moulin Roty - Kite

  24. Birkenstock - Eva Milano Waterproof Sandal

  25. Minnow x Brock Collection - Classic Fleur Boardie

And of course had to get the matching sibling moment for Margot…

  26. Mindware - Lil' Gardener Tool Set

  27. Pippa And Pelle In The Spring Garden - Book

  28. Huckleberry - Magnifying Glass

  29. Baghera - Racing Cap & Goggles

  30. Weezie - Cover Up

  31. Just For Kids - Leather Work Gloves

H absolutely loves to not only be outside playing, but helping and doing projects in any way he can. He’s going to FLIP with his own pair of work gloves.

  32. HomeGrown Garden - Heirloom Vegetable Seeds

As a little project for just the two of us, we will be attempting our first vegetable garden this spring, and this variety pack is the perfect starter.

Finding A Bright Spot in Valentine's Day

January is always a tough month. If you’re anything like me, you may feel like there is a lot of pressure to start off the year with a fresh start - organized, refreshed, and ready to take on a new year. But, these past couple years have been extremely hard on us all, and it feels more than ever we are forced to look at the new year a bit differently this year. I for one, am taking it more slowly. Things are closing down around us (again), and it’s looking like another long winter spent at home.

Our holiday decorations are all down, besides some winter greens I like to keep up to make the snow feel cozy, and while I love a clean slate, it’s nice to have a little holiday to look forward to.

Valentine’s Day will always be near and dear to my heart. Even before I was in a relationship, my girlfriends and I would always spend Valentine’s together - a nice dinner out and celebrating friendships. It became even more special when I actually met Nick on Valentine’s Day. It’s so fun now to bring little traditions to this special day with the kids, and it’s a nice little bright spot in an otherwise dull, dark and very cold New England winter.

I wanted to share some little pieces I’ve been loving the last couple years to celebrate Valentine’s Day. These little items can make everyday February mealtimes and long days inside feel just a little bit more special.

  1. Napkins - I love to keep these folded up in the basket on our kitchen island. They make it feel festive, and also are quick on hand for when we need them because… #toddlers

  2. Heart Plates

  3. Illustrated Letters of Jane Austen - Over Christmas, I found a new love in finding seasonal vintage/coffee table books and mixing them in around the house. This one is just perfect for Valentine’s Day and also doesn’t hurt it feels a little spring-y!

  4. Heart Bowl

  5. Heart Mixing Spoon

  6. Heart Felt Garland - love every single color combo they have

  7. Napkins

  8. Ruffled Heart Pie Dish

  9. Valentine’s Craft Kit

  10. Unable to find last year’s wooden heart DIY ornaments shown here, but also love these and these <3

  11. Valentine’s Mini Cookie Cutters

  12. Romeo & Juliet

Gift Guide | Easter Baskets 2021

So here we are! About to celebrate our second Easter in a pandemic quarantine. Remember last Easter when we were like, oh my god can’t believe we’ll have to do this holiday all alone but it’ll be worth it in a couple weeks when we’re all safe!

Ha.

Anyways, if you’re like me, and need something (anything) to keep your hopes alive and well — we have started really going all out on the holidays. It makes the build up so fun and exciting, not just for the kids but for us parents as well. When the days are so mundane, with no escape in sight, it’s so nice to have these holidays to cherish and really celebrate.

I’ve rounded up some cute Easter baskets, and goodies to fill them, in case you wanted to join me in overindulging. I also included some favorite clothing pieces and just general fun Easter things for kids, because why not. For Margot’s first Easter, I plan on putting a few small things in her Olli Ella casa clutch for her basket, and then getting her a larger traditional basket starting next year. Mainly because I just love the casa clutch and needed an excuse to get it…

P.S. For basket filler, I love this natural grass!

Refresh | Favorite Easter & Spring Objects

Since having Harrison, I’ve started to really think about what traditions I had growing up that I remember loving and being so excited about each holiday or season.

One thing that sticks out during Easter, was of course our Easter baskets, but also the spring decor and Easter tree that my mom always had. I started ours last year, using blossoming sprigs and decorating with painted eggs and a few other ornaments I found from some of our favorite small shops and brands. It was a sweet little start, so now I’d love to add a little ornament for both Harry and Margot each year.

I thought I’d share some favorite ornaments, and other Easter and Spring decor I’m loving, especially since it’s currently 50 degrees in Boston and the spring fever is so real. I don’t love cluttering the house with tons of seasonal decor, but I do really enjoy these small little moments sprinkled throughout the house to give us some light at the end of this very long season.

9. Laurel Crocks — I love these all around the house, all year round — but they are also a perfect vessel for your “Easter tree”!

Gift Guide | Valentine's Day

I love Valentine’s Day, always have, always will. If you’re new here, Nick and I met on Valentine’s Day back in 2013 — so it will always have a special place in my heart, but even before that my best girl friends and I would always do a fun dinner and night out on Valentine’s Day — it’s just a super sweet holiday and helps to break up the winter rut.

So this year (anything after March 2020.. ) since we’re making EVERYTHING a bigger deal than “normal” because there is nothing else for us to do or celebrate — I wanted to share some sweet gifts for your little ones if you’re doing gifts!

Holiday Gift Guide | For Moms

Naturally when I made my holiday gift guide, I didn’t include the moms — which just feels so classic, right? Oye. So, I have gotten a few requests for a little gift guide for the moms in your life (or you!), so here you go.

Also, if you DON’T mind waiting, I absolutely love their Mama charm, and personalized Small Dog Tag charm

Holiday Gift Guide 2020

I know, I know, it’s EARLY — but let’s be real, I’ve been planning Christmas presents all year, so it’s never too early to share.

This year, same as we’ve done with the past two holidays for Harry — we’re keeping it simple. One larger thing from us, one smaller thing from Santa, and a stocking. H (and Margot now too!) are lucky enough to receive presents from grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. so just a couple gifts from us is plenty without becoming super overwhelming, and also most importantly, still appreciated.

This year, I’m going to share my favorite gifts from 2-3 year olds, as well as newborn-1 year olds. Anything else isn’t much in my expertise yet ;)
